Tim Biers and his 1937 Ford Slantback claimed Best of Show at the Rochester Lions Club's 26th annual Rockin' Rods n' Rochester car show, held Sunday, Aug. 9, on Walnut Boulevard in downtown Rochester.

Larry Markov earned the Pride of the Lions award with his 1958 Chevrolet Apache Pickup, and Gary Akers took Pick of the Litter with a 1972 AMC Javelin/AMX, according to the club's winners list.

Jimmy Scroggs swept three awards with his 1946 Ford Pickup: Best Paint, Best Interior and Best of Class in the Truck category. Jerry Tignanelli's 2013 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 won Best Engine and Best of Class in the 2001–Present division.

The show spanned 20 vehicle classes, from Pre-1950s Classic to Corvette, Motorcycle and Specialty. Other class winners included Cal Knoff's 1923 Packard Single 6 126 (Vintage), Ron Turner's 1936 Auburn Boattail Speedster (Specialty), Al Oppenheiser's 1970 Chevrolet Camaro (1970s Classic) and Glen Durnisevich's 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham (1950s Classic).

Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan K. Barnett presented a sponsor award, selecting Mike Thibodeau's 1972 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup. Local businesses including Rochester Corner Bar, Maaco Rochester Hills, Car-Aid of Rochester and Rochester Bike Shop also handed out picks.

All proceeds from the show benefit Leader Dogs for the Blind, headquartered in Rochester Hills, and other Lions charities. The Rochester Lions Club, founded in 1944 and in its 82nd year, calls itself the "Home Club of Leader Dogs for the Blind." During the 2024–2025 Lions year, the club raised and donated $43,000 across all its fundraising activities.

The 2025 show drew close to 300 cars. The 2026 edition was capped at 375 vehicles and ran from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a DJ, a food truck, door prizes and 50/50 raffles filling the boulevard alongside the chrome and custom paint.

The show served as a warm-up to the Woodward Dream Cruise on Aug. 15, which brought an estimated 40,000 classic cars to Oakland County's stretch of Woodward Avenue. The Rochester Lions Club has not yet announced dates for its next fundraiser.
