Rochester Adams erased a two-score deficit to beat Rochester 21-19 in their crosstown rivalry game Thursday, Sept. 3.

The OAA crossover matchup, reported by The Oakland Press, was originally listed at Wayne State University as part of the Kickoff Classic, according to ClickOnDetroit. Severe storms forced a change of plans. Rochester Community Schools announced on X that the game would move to Rochester High School at 1361 Walton Blvd. in Rochester Hills, with an 8 p.m. kickoff. The district had already dismissed students early due to multiple power outages, with trees reported down on Sheldon Road and Tienken Road closed west of Adams Road.

The pregame Falcon Frenzy tailgate, originally scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m., was canceled. The Stoney Creek football game was also relocated to Clarkston High School.

None of the disruption slowed Rochester early. Callen Sieber hauled in a 32-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-11, capping a drive that included two fourth-down conversions, according to MLive's live updates. That put Rochester up 7-0 with 5:22 left in the first quarter.

Blake Czechowski added a 9-yard rushing touchdown to stretch the lead to 13-0 before halftime, MLive reported. The Falcons entered the game trying to snap what MLive described as a 30-game drought against Adams.

That drought continued.

Adams, which entered the week 0-1 after a 17-10 loss to Romeo, mounted a second-half comeback to steal the road win. Details of the Highlanders' rally were not available in published accounts as of Sept. 4. The result gives Adams its first win of the season.

Rochester hosts Wylie E. Groves at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Rochester High School.
