Crunch Fitness has opened a 30,000-plus-square-foot gym at 2105 S. Rochester Road in Rochester Hills, with a grand opening set for Saturday, Oct. 17.
The location soft-opened Oct. 6 and is already welcoming members, according to the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce. The facility represents a $5 million investment by franchisee Primetime Fitness, LLC, which reported operating 12 Crunch locations across Michigan before announcing the four-club expansion in March.
The Rochester Hills club is one of four new Southeast Michigan Crunch gyms announced by Primetime Fitness. The others are in Livonia, Chesterfield and Grand Blanc. Together, the four locations represent roughly $20 million in capital investment and are expected to create about 160 jobs, according to a Crunch Fitness press release issued in March.
The March announcement projected about 40 positions at the Rochester Hills location, including general manager, assistant managers, personal trainers, group fitness instructors and front desk staff.
"These four new clubs represent approximately $20 million in capital investment and will create around 160 new jobs locally," Kevin Laferriere, CEO of Primetime Fitness, said in the March announcement.
The gym features what Crunch calls its 3.0 design. That includes Olympic lifting platforms, a boxing area, a functional training zone with indoor turf, a group fitness studio and a stretching zone. Recovery amenities include HydroMassage beds, tanning, spray tanning, a sauna and full-service locker rooms with showers.
The club’s official page also lists red light therapy.
The March announcement said the four new Southeast Michigan clubs would bring Primetime Fitness to 16 Crunch locations in Michigan. It also reported operations in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, New Jersey and New York.
