Youth soccer and volleyball teams in the Rochester area have a new way to experience Division I athletics this fall.

Oakland University is offering group ticket packages and exclusive game-day experiences for teams with players ages 12 and under across its home soccer and volleyball schedules.

The Golden Grizzlies announced the program on Monday, Aug. 10, inviting local clubs and rec teams to bring their squads to OU home matches throughout the season. Spots are limited. Availability is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The program covers both sports. For volleyball, group packages extend to players, coaches and family members, with participation in select game-day experiences at the OU Credit Union O'rena. Head coach Krista Rice's squad hosts 12 matches there between Aug. 22 and Nov. 7.

Two volleyball dates stand out for younger fans, according to the program's promotions schedule. Kid's Day on Saturday, Sept. 12, against Eastern Michigan (3 p.m.) offers free admission for children 12 and under with a paying adult, plus a free youth clinic led by Oakland student-athletes after the match. Club Day on Saturday, Oct. 24, against Cleveland State (2 p.m.) features free admission for club athletes 12 and under with a paying adult and a postgame open serving session.

On the soccer side, Oakland women's soccer opens its nine-game home slate on Thursday, Aug. 20, against Bowling Green at 7 p.m. at Oakland Soccer Field. Additional home dates run through Oct. 31, giving youth soccer teams multiple windows to attend as a group.

Pricing for the group packages has not been disclosed. The announcement did not mention men's soccer home games.
