Stephen Biebelhausen pushed his daughter in a stroller across the finish line of the Guardian Mile in Cleveland on Saturday, Aug. 8, clocking 4 minutes and 17 seconds. The time obliterated the men's Guinness World Record for fastest mile pushing a stroller by nine seconds.

The previous record of 4:26.29 belonged to Silas Frantz, who set it in Arroyo Grande, California, in June 2025.

Biebelhausen, a Rochester, Michigan, native, ran for the Miami University RedHawks track and cross country teams from 2013 to 2016. He posted a 1500-meter personal best of 3:48.11, placing sixth at the Billy Hayes Invitational in his final collegiate season. That time ranks ninth on Miami's all-time list. His college career also includes a 4:06.68 indoor mile.

He hasn't slowed down. His World Athletics profile shows a 2:25:31 finish at the 2024 Boston Marathon.

The Guardian Mile is run across Cleveland's Hope Memorial Bridge and draws runners of all ages and levels alongside an elite field. A second runner pushing a child finished in 4:32.

The CITIUS MAG post on X announcing the record reached more than 925,000 impressions and 3,360 likes by Sunday.

Biebelhausen's record is pending Guinness ratification. Guinness rules require an approved stroller carrying a child above a minimum weight for the full distance, and official race results from the Guardian Mile had not been posted as of Sunday, according to Marathon Handbook. Until that review is complete, Frantz's 4:26.29 officially stands.

BroBible estimated the stroller and his daughter added roughly 15 pounds to his workload during the record run.

The next step is Guinness certification. No timeline for that review has been made public.
