Oakland University's Online MBA program ranked No. 45 in the nation on The Princeton Review's Top 50 Online MBA Programs for 2027, according to rankings the review published July 14.
The Rochester Hills university highlighted the achievement in a Friday, July 24, announcement.
The School of Business Administration also earned a spot on The Princeton Review's Best Business Schools for 2027 list and its Best On-Campus MBA Programs list, giving the school dual recognition across both delivery formats. The Princeton Review's annual edition is forward-dated; the 2027 lists reflect surveys conducted during the 2025–2026 academic year.
Dean Chuck Pierce called the ranking "a tremendous honor," saying the programs are "among the nation's best."
How the rankings work
The Princeton Review drew on surveys of administrators at 439 business schools and 37,600 students enrolled in those programs. For the online MBA rankings, 194 programs were evaluated and only the top 50 received a numbered ranking.
The methodology weighs more than 60 data points. For online programs, the administrator survey covers admissions selectivity, faculty credentials, technology infrastructure, graduation rates, and career outcomes. A separate student survey measures satisfaction with academics, professors, and career planning.
Indiana University–Bloomington held the No. 1 spot on the online MBA list for an eighth consecutive year. The University of Michigan–Ann Arbor ranked No. 3.
