Rochester's boys soccer team scored nine goals in a blowout road win over North Farmington on Monday, Sept. 28.

The Falcons cruised to a 9-1 win at North Farmington High School in Farmington Hills, their second straight victory. The win improved Rochester's record to 8-3-1 at the time, according to The Oakland Press. North Farmington dropped to 1-11-1 with the loss. MaxPreps lists Rochester at 8-4-1 after a 1-0 loss to West Bloomfield on Sept. 29.

The nine-goal outburst was Rochester's highest-scoring game since an 8-0 win over Mott on Aug. 25.

The Falcons opened the year with three straight wins: 2-0 at Chippewa Valley on Aug. 19, 1-0 at Bloomfield Hills on Aug. 21 and 8-0 against Mott on Aug. 25. A scoreless draw against Rochester Adams on Sept. 1 was followed by a 3-0 win over Kettering on Sept. 2.

Birmingham Groves edged the Falcons 1-0 on Sept. 8, and crosstown rival Stoney Creek won 1-0 on Sept. 15. Between those defeats, Rochester beat Lake Orion 2-0 on the road on Sept. 10. Troy dealt the most lopsided loss, 4-1, on Sept. 19.

Rochester beat Oxford 2-0 on Sept. 17 before the Troy loss, then won back-to-back games over Avondale, 5-0, on Sept. 21 and North Farmington, 9-1, on Sept. 28.

Through 13 games entering Oct. 1, Rochester has outscored opponents 33-8. The Falcons have recorded seven shutout wins and one scoreless draw and allowed more than one goal only once, in the Troy loss.

Rochester travels to Athens on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m., according to Rochester High's official athletics calendar.
