Rochester Christian University Theatre and UnCovered Theatre open "The Winter's Tale" on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the university's Lake Norcentra Park stage in Rochester Hills.
The production is part of Shakespeare Upon Avon, an annual outdoor festival on RCU's campus at 800 W. Avon Road. Seven performances run through Saturday, Sept. 26.
Evening shows begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. A Sunday matinee on Sept. 20 starts at 2:30 p.m.
The outdoor stage sits behind Palmer Hall and requires walking down 15 steps. Sunday's matinee moves indoors to the Richardson Academic Center Theater, which the university describes as fully accessible, according to the Michigan Public community calendar listing.
Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome for outdoor performances, according to C&G News.
Tickets and details
Tickets cost $18 for adults and $5 for students. Discounts are available for seniors, veterans and alumni. The in-person box office opens one hour before each performance, and tickets can also be purchased online.
Camden Maccagnone is listed as the festival organizer on Patch.com's event listing. The two theater companies have partnered on the festival before, including a prior production of "Twelfth Night," according to Rochester Media.
