Rochester's new free concert series along the Paint Creek wraps up Thursday, Aug. 13, when the Y'ALL Band takes the stage at Lions Park Amphitheater for the final Bites & Beats by the Paint Creek show of the summer.
The Clarkston-based country band, which blends country, rock, pop and R&B into what it calls a "high-energy, genre-bending" live show, will play from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the amphitheater behind the Rochester Mills Beer Co. building. Admission is free and open to all ages.
The Rochester Avon Recreation Authority and Rochester Mills Beer Co. launched the series this summer as part of a push, supported by the Rochester City Council, to activate public spaces downtown. Rochester Mills serves as title sponsor.
"For years, as I walked by that amphitheater, I envisioned it being used as a gathering space for the community," Rochester City Council member Debbie Jones said when the series was first announced.
The three-concert inaugural season opened with The Loose Screws on July 16 and continued with The Half Nelson Band on July 30. According to RARA's event page, the Aug. 13 show is the final date on the 2026 calendar.
Local dentist Dr. Ashleigh O'Brien of O'Brien Dental Care is sponsoring the closing concert, according to the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce. O'Brien, who earned her dental surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2022, purchased her own practice this year.
Attendees should bring their own chairs or blankets. Food and beverages from Rochester Mills Beer Co. will be available for purchase on site.
No announcement has been made about whether the series will return in 2027.
