Early voting is over. If you haven't cast a ballot in the Aug. 4 primary, your only option is to show up at your assigned polling place Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Here's what Rochester, Rochester Hills, and Oakland Township voters will find on the ballot, and how to get there.
Getting to the polls
SMART buses are free all day Tuesday across every route and service, including fixed routes, Connector, SMART Flex, and ADA Paratransit. No fare, pass, or ticket is needed. Riders using Connector or ADA Paratransit should reserve trips in advance as usual.
"On Election Day, that mission means making sure a lack of transportation never stands between a resident and their polling place," SMART General Manager Tiffany J. Gunter said in a July 30 announcement.

Three local ballot questions
Oakland Schools Regional Enhancement Millage (countywide): A 1.5-mill levy for six years that would generate roughly $126 million in its first year and distribute about $781 per student annually to all 28 public school districts in Oakland County. Rochester Community Schools' nearly 15,000 students would share in that funding. Cost to a homeowner with a $200,000 taxable value: about $150 per year. Collection would begin in December 2026 if approved.
Rochester Hills fire millage increase: A City Charter amendment raising the fire millage cap from 3.0 to 3.5 mills. The additional 0.5 mill would generate an estimated $5 million in its first year and fund 12 new firefighter/paramedics to staff an additional ambulance and fire engine around the clock. The fire department logged more than 9,200 emergency runs in 2025 and reported 224 occasions when zero units were available. Cost: $100 per year on a $200,000 taxable value home.
Rochester Hills pathway millage renewal: A renewal of the existing 0.1715-mill levy for 10 more years at the same rate. No tax increase. The millage funds maintenance of more than 100 miles of city pathways, including the Clinton River Trail and Paint Creek Trail. Cost: about $34.30 per year on a $200,000 taxable value home. The renewal would raise more than $864,000 in its first year.

10th Congressional District primary
The open seat vacated by Rep. John James, who is running for governor, includes Rochester and Rochester Hills.
Republican ballot (four names, three active candidates): Michael Bouchard, 32, of Rochester Hills (Army veteran, Trump-endorsed); Steffan Demetropoulos of Macomb Township (Army veteran); Justin Kirk; and Robert Lulgjuraj, who withdrew but remains on the ballot.
Democratic ballot: Eric Chung of Sterling Heights (former Commerce Department attorney); Tim Greimel, 52, of Rochester Hills (former Pontiac mayor and Michigan House Democratic Leader); and Christina Hines of Warren (former assistant prosecutor). Outside spending has been heavy: Pro-Choice Majority Action put $500,000 behind Hines, and Equality PAC spent about $150,000 supporting Chung, according to the Detroit News.
After you vote
Results will be reported after polls close at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Early and absentee ballots are counted and released alongside Election Day totals.
