Polls are open across Rochester, Rochester Hills, and Oakland Township for today's primary election, running from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at assigned polling places. For full details on the local ballot proposals and candidate races, see our earlier rundown.

Oakland County voters had already cast 173,463 ballots before Tuesday through absentee and early in-person voting, representing 18.5% of active registered voters, according to county records. Oakland County Clerk Lisa Brown told The Oakland Press on July 31 that early voting numbers were outpacing 2024: "Our numbers are higher than they were for '24 as far as early voting at this point… I think more and more people are learning about it."

Outside spending has been heavy in the 10th Congressional District Democratic primary, with Pro-Choice Majority Action putting $500,000 behind Christina Hines and Equality PAC spending about $150,000 supporting Eric Chung.

Contested races for Oakland County Circuit Court Judge and Probate Court Judge are also on the ballot.

Getting to the polls

SMART buses are free all day Tuesday across every route and service, including fixed routes, Connector, SMART Flex, and ADA Paratransit. No fare or pass is needed. Voters can find their assigned polling place and preview a sample ballot at the Michigan Voter Information Center.
